At Rhythm Digital, we build websites that put you in control — and the Webflow Editor makes it easy to manage your own content without needing technical skills. Whether you’re updating text, publishing blog posts, or swapping out images, this guide will help you get started confidently.

How to Access the Webflow Editor

Once your email has been granted access, you can open the Webflow Editor at any time by adding ?edit to the end of your website URL.

For example: https://www.yourdomain.com.au/?edit

This loads your live site with Webflow’s Editor overlay, allowing you to edit directly on the page.

Editing Collection-Based Content (like News or Blog Posts)

Webflow Collections are used to manage content that appears in repeatable formats, such as blog posts, team members, or testimonials.

To update a Collection item:

  1. Open the Editor and click Collections in the bottom toolbar.
  2. Choose the relevant collection folder (e.g. News).
  3. You’ll see a list of all current items.

You can:

  • Edit an existing item by clicking on it, updating fields, and clicking Save.
  • Add a new item by selecting New Item and filling in the relevant details.
  • Remove an item by clicking into it, then choosing Archive (for temporary removal) or Delete (permanent removal).

💡 Image tip: To maintain fast site performance, we recommend keeping images around 100–200 KB in size.

Publishing Your Changes

After editing, your changes won’t appear live until you publish them.

To do this, click the Publish button in the top right corner of the Editor. A short confirmation message will appear once your site is updated.

Editing Static Page Content

To make changes to regular pages (like your Home or About page):

  1. Click Pages in the Editor toolbar.
  2. Select the page you want to edit.
  3. Hover over editable content to reveal a pencil icon, then click to make changes.
  4. Click outside the box to save.

🛑 Be cautious not to delete text boxes by pressing backspace multiple times in an empty field.

Changing Images on Static Pages

Some images can also be updated directly in the Editor:

  • Hover over the image — if editable, you’ll see an image icon.
  • Click to upload a new image from your computer.

Again, try to keep your file sizes between 100–200 KB to ensure your site remains fast and responsive.

🎨 Note: Some design elements and background images may not be editable through the Editor. If you need help updating these, just let us know.

Optimising for SEO in the Webflow Editor

Webflow makes it easy to apply basic SEO best practices as you manage your site:

  • Use clear, keyword-rich titles for blog posts and collection items.
  • Write meaningful summaries or descriptions, especially for news articles or service pages — this helps both search engines and readers.
  • Use proper headings (H1, H2, etc.) when creating or editing static content — avoid using bold text in place of a heading.
  • Name images descriptively before uploading, and use ALT text where available for accessibility and SEO.

If you’re not sure what keywords to target or how to structure your content for search engines, our team can help with SEO audits and tailored recommendations.
