The Telecottage's old website had fallen behind. It looked dated, and getting each week's edition of The Apsley Advocate online was a lot harder than it should have been for a small team with plenty of other work coming through the door.
Anthea and the team wanted a site they could keep up to date themselves, week in and week out, without needing outside help. It also had to explain the full range of services clearly, from printing and secretarial work to computer hire and office space, so locals and people passing through Walcha could see what was on offer.
Rhythm Digital built a new website in Webflow with a clean, straightforward layout that puts the Telecottage's story as Australia's first telecentre up front, right alongside the services it offers.
The Apsley Advocate runs through Webflow's CMS. Each weekly edition is added as its own item with a date and a PDF, the latest issues appear automatically on the homepage, and past editions are a click away. The Services Australia agency, printing, secretarial work, internet and computer hire and office space are all clearly set out, and advertising and printing rates are easy for local businesses to find.
We set the site up so Anthea and the team can add a new edition and keep other information current without touching the design, and an About page introduces the local team behind it all.
Walcha Telecottage now has a website that keeps pace with the paper. Each week's Advocate goes up without fuss, and readers in Walcha, Uralla, Bendemeer and beyond can find the latest issue or look back through past editions whenever they like.
For a not-for-profit that relies on community support, it also gives the Telecottage a clear, current place to explain everything it does for the district.
